i:X® Sterile Surgical Sleeve Convenience Kit

The i:X Sterile Surgical Sleeve provides a sterile barrier between the i:X device and the patient. Applications include:
Use of the i:X in the operating room
Allows detection of wounds containing elevated bacterial load in the operating room, in combination with CSS. Knowledge of elevated bacterial loads in the operating room provides additional information that may inform the surgical procedure.

Use of the i:X where the device needs to be shielded from the patients
The surgical sleeve precludes a deep cleaning/disinfection of the MolecuLight i:X between patients.

Use of the i:X where the device needs to be shielded from a procedure
(e.g. wound ultrasonic debridement)
The surgical sleeve protects the i:X during procedures which produce airborne particles.

i:X Sterile Sleeve in use

i:X Sterile Sleeve Convenience Kit

The i:X Sterile Surgical Sleeve comes as part of a Convenience Kit that
includes the following one-time use, disposable items:

  • a sterile sleeve (to maintain a barrier between the i:X device and the patient),
  • a non-sterile adhesive adapter (to adhere the sleeve to the i:X for optimal imaging),
  • a sterile paper ruler (to enable clinicians to achieve appropriate distance between the i:X and the wound) since the i:X rangefinder does not operate through the sleeve, and
  • MolecuLight Instructions for Use (to clearly explain how to assemble and use the i:X Sterile Sleeve for standard and fluorescence imaging of wounds in a sterile field)
